Global specialty underwriter and provider of re/insurance, AXIS Capital Holdings Limited, has made senior leadership appointments with the addition of Paul Boulos and Rob Ryan as Heads of Ocean Marine, effective immediately.
The duo will report to Michael McKenna, Head of North America.
McKenna, commented on the appointments, “Paul and Rob join AXIS with extensive expertise, proven leadership, and prominent standing in the market, positioning them to drive our ocean marine venture forward.
“Led by their combined vision and strategic acumen, we are poised to elevate our presence in the ocean marine market, shape the direction of our portfolio, and deepen our existing broker relationships as we continue our journey in building out additional specialty offerings in North America.”
Together, Boulos and Ryan will be responsible for building a suite of Ocean Marine-related products into a comprehensive offering, aligned with the re/insurer’s ambition to be a leading specialty insurer.
They will also be closely working with Frank Romeo. who joined AXIS in 2023 as US Head of Cargo, as part of their responsibilities.
Boulos and Ryan both join AXIS with 40 years of ocean marine underwriting and leadership experience combined.
Most recently, Boulos served as the National Cargo Product Leader at Navigators, a brand of The Hartford.
Meanwhile, Ryan managed the New York Marine Branch as the Vice President at Navigators.
