Following an active electoral year worldwide, Allianz has announced the launch of “Power of Unity,” a global program aimed at restoring trust in societal institutions and fostering confidence in a better economic future.
According to Allianz Research’s Social Resilience Index 2024, polarisation and social unrest have increased in many countries, carrying significant economic costs. Partisanship is affecting the strength of democratic institutions, social cohesion, and trust in functioning markets and economies.
Additionally, an Allianz proprietary survey conducted across six core markets found that 69% of its customers, investors, and other stakeholders lack confidence in political leaders’ ability to work together to solve problems.
Oliver Bäte, CEO of Allianz SE, stated, “A more united world is a more prosperous world. Polarisation slows economic growth and threatens our customers’ sense of security and optimism.”
He added, “To secure their future, Allianz will combine forces with willing partners for action, demonstrating that leaders can work successfully together to solve the problems that matter most to people.”
In response, Allianz’s “Power of Unity” program aims to help individuals and organisations engage more constructively in the face of growing polarisation worldwide.
Through research, thought leadership, and educational events, the program promotes dialogue, respectful debate, and mutual understanding, with the goal of restoring trust in societal institutions.
The program’s objectives are to inform, inspire, and engage all Allianz stakeholders—citizens, organisations, customers, shareholders, agents, and employees—by providing education, skills, tools, and initiatives that bridge divides and foster unity. This includes guidance on identifying fake news, diffusing tension through respectful listening, and maintaining confidence amid uncertainty.
