Sompo International has appointed Carlos Ortega as Head of Casualty Insurance, Iberia.
The role will be based in Madrid and Ortega will report to Jamie Cañellas, Country Manager, Insurance, Iberia.
Ortega is an industry expert who joins Sompo International from QBE European Operations where he served as an Underwriter, International Casualty.
Throughout his career, he has also held roles with Marsh McLennan and JLT Specialty in London, managing LatAm and Caribbean business portfolios.
Cañellas commented on the appointment, “Carlos joins our growing Iberian insurance team at a very exciting time.
“Having served as both a broker and international casualty underwriter, Carlos brings a depth of knowledge and perspective to this role as we further build relationships, extend our offering, and grow our book of business.”
