P&C re/insurer Sompo International has appointed Jesús García Matas as the Head of Property Insurance for Iberia.
García Matas will be based in Sompo International’s newly established office in Madrid and will report to Jamie Cañellas, the Country Manager Insurance, Iberia.
Expressing his enthusiasm about the new addition to the team, Cañellas said, “I’m delighted that Jesús has joined our team.
“With his diverse background and extensive product and market expertise, we’re well positioned to strengthen and build relationships with clients throughout Iberia and deliver solutions that meet their needs.”
García Matas brings extensive expertise in the insurance industry to his role. With a decade of experience, he has worked in various areas including property and energy underwriting, multinational programs, and claims.
García Matas has successfully led both underwriting and claims teams in the Iberian and Latin American regions.
Prior to joining Sompo International, he served as the Head of Claims Iberia & Latam at Generali Insurance.
