Acrisure Re, the (re)insurance division of global fintech Acrisure, has appointed Steve Ryland as Global Head of Legacy and Thomas Deane as Head of Investment Banking to its corporate advisory and solutions division (ARCAS).<\/p>\n

\"\"According to Acrisure, the pair will work alongside the rest of the ARCAS team to expand the range of services the division has to offer, with Ryland focusing on the legacy (re)insurance market and Deane focusing on investment banking.<\/p>\n

Ryland holds a wealth of experience in managing legacy (re)insurance portfolios, joining Acrisure from Catalina Holdings, where he was most recently group head of global distribution, having joined in 2020 as CEO of UK operations and later becoming group chief commercial officer.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Deane has almost two decades of (re)insurance industry experience, mainly in the capital markets and advisory sectors. He joins Acrisure Re from Stonybrook Capital where he was a partner for five years focused on investment banking opportunities in the lower-middle-market insurance sector.<\/p>\n

Before this, Deane spent seven years at JLT on both the capital markets and advisory teams working on projects such as capital raises and M&A transactions. He also worked at Benfield Advisory as an associate for four years.<\/p>

As per Acrisure, Ryland will be based in London and report to Global Managing Director of ARCAS, Ben Canagaretna, and Deane will be based in New York and report to Managing Director and head of ARCAS North America, Alex Orloff.<\/p>\n

commenting on the appointment of Ryland, Canagaretna said, \u201cThe ARCAS division has had great momentum since its launch in 2021.<\/p>\n

“At the heart of our value proposition is having senior executives from the carrier side giving better and more informed advice to our client base. Steve is another fantastic example of the caliber of talent we have within the team.\u201d<\/p>\n

Orloff said of Deane, “We are thrilled to have Tom join ARCAS, bringing his M&A and capital raising experience, as we continue to deepen and expand the range of solutions for our clients.<\/p>\n
