Manik Sethi is to replace\u00a0Micky Lee as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Qatar Reinsurance Company Limited’s (Qatar Re) Singapore branch, effective November 13th, 2017.<\/p>\n

\"ManikSethi brings more than 11 years of insurance and reinsurance underwriting experience to the role, having worked for companies such as Zurich (Middle East) and RSA (Middle East). Sethi joined Qatar Re in 2016 as Regional Head of\u00a0Facultative Marine, before later being appointed Head of the team.<\/p>\n

Qatar Re’s CEO, Gunther Saacke, said; “I am pleased that Manik will take the helm at our Singapore branch. Since joining us in 2016 he has already made a valuable contribution to our business in his role as Global Head of Facultative Marine and has past experience of developing and enhancing new and existing portfolios of business and of managing culturally diverse underwriting teams. He is very well equipped to implement our strategic priorities for the Asia-Pacific region which include an increased focus on facultative business.<\/p>\n

“Singapore is recognised as a highly sophisticated and innovative marketplace for reinsurance. As such, the Lion State plays an important role for Qatar Re as a regional hub. Under Manik\u2019s leadership, we are keen to see our Singapore branch develop into a centre of excellence for Marine business.”<\/p>\n

Commenting on his new position, Sethi said; “I am excited to have the opportunity to take Qatar Re\u2019s presence in Asia-Pacific to the next level. We remain fully committed to the region\u2019s markets and the delivery of bespoke quality products as part an attractive service proposition to our clients in their time zone. From our branch in Singapore we will continue to offer a complete range of facultative and treaty products including Property, Engineering, Construction, Power, Energy, Casualty, Credit & Surety and Marine.”<\/p>
